Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Revenue Cycle Billing Manager I oversees insurance benefit verification, dental insurance plan maintenance and dental claims billing tasks assigned to the revenue cycle department. Results and services of this position may impact the short-term direction, operations and/or financial status of various dental offices. Decisions made have an impact on compliance, resources, and provider service.

Supervision
This position has supervisory responsibility of assigned staff. Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws. Consults with Human Resources, as necessary.

Revenue Cycle Billing Manager Responsibilities:

  • Supervising the revenue cycle department in various duties, such as process management for insurance benefit verification, insurance plan creation and maintenance in practice management system, and insurance claims billing.
  • Overseeing response times and team adherence to procedural protocols.
  • Manage, file, and maintain electronic records for assigned LOBs.
  • Assist with managing eligibility and benefit verification daily workflow and accuracy of completed forms.
  • Maintaining accurate insurance plans in the practice management system.
  • Correctly coding diagnoses and procedures according to ADA guidelines and internal protocols.
  • Track and resolve billing discrepancies based on denials or partial payments.
  • Performing initial training and up-training for assigned staff and office teams as needed.
  • Assist with process updates, maintaining reference materials, and tools for efficiencies.
  • Collaboration and communication with RCM department heads regarding billing issues to ensure a streamlined and efficient workflow within the RCM teams.

Revenue Cycle Manager Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, healthcare administration, or related field or minimum 3 years experience in a healthcare revenue cycle management position.
