JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTS RECEIVABE AND BILLING SPECIALIST

REPORTS TO: RCM Director FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt

Position Summary

This position assists with multiple functions within the revenue cycle including dental billing for assigned dental offices. This position will handle questions, complaints, or disputes from insurance companies, including Medicaid, HMO, PPO, etc. plans regarding insurance reimbursement and denial resolution.

Supervision

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Duties and Responsibilities

Revenue Cycle Management

- Collaborates with internal RCM teams and operations to translate requirements into technical solution/s. Function includes but not limited to initial claims, eligibility & verification, claim tracing, denials management, and insurance payment posting.

- Assists in educating and training of functional, non-functional, and cross-functional requirements for processes and tools within personal scope of knowledge and expertise.

- Assists RCM team efforts on an as needed basis within personal scope of knowledge and expertise. Function includes but not limited to initial claims, eligibility & verification, claim tracing, denials management, and insurance payment posting.

- Assists in identifying opportunities for automation and interdependency across RCM LOB’s.

- Assists in identifying and implementing protocols for end to end delivery across RCM LOB’s.

- Dental Billing Related Tasks


Miscellaneous

- Assists and collaborates with insurance plan and network participation including insurance’s allowable fees.

- Receives and communicates new/revised information/changes regarding insurances/billing to appropriate teams to aid in healthy collections.

- Assists with analyzing BDG insurances and provides recommendations that result in increased claim reimbursement.

- Participates in meetings.

- Always Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.

- Performs all other related duties, as assigned. May be requested to assist with special projects from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications (Industry, Work Experience and/or Education)

High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree or higher desired. Minimum of three years of insurance claims experience required, preferably in the dental industry experienced.

Computer Skills (If Applicable)

Microsoft Windows environment with Office Suite to include formatting and production of letters, forms and memos. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience in using dental practice management software preferred. Proficiency in online ordering platforms.

Regular attendance is required including varied hours. At times, individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to handle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands and to consult Supervisor when necessary. Overtime requires approval by Supervisor.

Work environment is subject to many interruptions, varying and unpredictable situations and time pressures related to multiple tasks. Work is normally performed inside. There is exposure to chemicals and cleaning supplies.
